Gil Smart of Lancaster Sunday News changed
his support for slots to opposition!

To the Editor, Sunday News,

Despite the attempts of the gambling pushers to drown out the truth, Mr. Smart saw the underbelly of gambling and changed his position. Kudos!

Responsible businesses are liable for damages of their product or service.

Gambling, a predatory enterprise, dumps the costs of its damage on the public while the gambling kingpins walk away with the spoils.

Last week, PA taxpayer trained and funded state troopers guarded a multimillionaire's colt so that bookies could stay in business!!! This irresponsible and costly diversion of valuable law enforcement resources took law enforcement officers out of service at a time when we are to be extra vigilant re terrorist threats.

In all the hype about Smarty Jones, where was the spotlight on rest of the story about the people who lost huge amounts of money?

Despite the well financed push for SLOTSylvania, legislators with the best interest of the public in mind could never knowingly vote for something which costs the public three to five times more than any benefits.

The YDR is home area of Hanover Shoe Farms
and has supported slots.

To the Editor, York Daily Record,

Responsible businesses work very hard to prevent harm. Responsible businesses are liable for damages of their product or service.

Gambling, a predatory enterprise, dumps the costs of its damage on the public while the gambling kingpins walk away with the spoils.

It is past time to look beyond the large racehorse farms and scams and see the manure.

Last week, PA taxpayer trained and funded state troopers guarded a multimillionaire's colt so that bookies could stay in business!!!

This irresponsible and costly diversion of valuable law enforcement resources also took law enforcement officers out of service at a time when we are to be extra vigilant re terrorist threats.

In all the hype about Smarty Jones, there was no spotlight on rest of the story about the people who lost huge amounts of money? The well financed pushers of SLOTSylvania did not want those to come out.

Legislators with the best interest of the public in mind could never vote for slots.

The Patiot-News has been opposed to slots
and is read by our legislators.

To the Editor, Patriot-News,

Flushing tax revenue through slots so that the already wealthy gambling vultures can get their cut is not just an inefficient way of collecting taxes but is reprehensible.

As with other forms of legalized gambling, the taxpayer not the gambling kingpins will pick up the very high price tag for the costs of crimes, bankruptcies, suicides, divorces, addiction, corruption, etc. which gambling brings with it.

That price tag will far outweigh any so-called property tax rebate and will also include the impact on people which is not measured in dollars.

We need to make the predatory gambling forces, suppliers and venues pay for the damage they have already done to gamblers like responsible businesses have to do!

Legislators need to turn over the slots rock and see what slime is hiding there.

Then, they would have to reject SLOTS because they could not with good conscience sell out Pennsylvanians.
