HOW AND WHERE TO WRITE LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
IN MISSOURI & ILLINOIS

Here is a list of Missouri & Illinois towns, their respective newspapers, and e-mail addresses of where to send letters to the editor.

All letters should have a name, address, hometown, and daytime phone number. Most newspapers require all this, but no newspapers publish the address or phone number.

Depending on the newspaper, keep the length of the letter to 250-300 words MAXIMUM. Do not ever go above this word amount. They will not publish what you write if you do not adhere to their guidelines.

Avoid slanderous or libelous statements against individuals or corporations. If you can't prove it, don't say it.

Be concise in your argument. CLEARLY state if you don't like an idea, then tell why. Use good examples.
