CASINO and LOTTERY EXPANSION

HB 1181- Sam Gaskill (R). This bill would restrict advertising for the state lottery. Not even sent to a committee for consideration! House Speaker Jim Krieder (D) is killing all discussions.

HB 1602 - James Froelker (R). Prohibits the introduction of any new types of gambling in the state. Sent to the House Comm. on Miscellaneous Bills and Resolutions on 2/7/02, but no hearings have been allowed.

HB 1972 - Pat Kelley (R) & Charles Ballard (R). Prohibits the Missouri Gaming Commission from authorizing new types of gaming without specific statutory authority or voter approval. This bill has not been assigned to any committee either. House Speaker Jim Krieder is again killing this bill also.

HB 2084 - Pat Kelley (R). This bill would prohibit the Lottery Commission from implementing or operating keno games after August 28, 2002. No Committee. Keno

SB 1176 - John Loudon (R). A senate bill that would authorize the University of Missouri at Columbia to do a gambling study on Missouri. Assigned to the Senate Pensions and General Laws Committee.

SB 1178 - Peter Kinder (R). Restricts gaming commission from authorizing new types of gaming or wagering after January 1, 2002 . This is an effort to try to stop the introduction of Keno. Keno

SB 1185 - Bill Kenney (R). Limits frequency of drawings and selections in lottery games. Like SB 1178, this bill seeks to control the high addiction problems that come with 'quick draw' lottery games. Keno
